And so say all of us! Have you ever noticed how a flock of sheep always run in the same direction? Most people prefer to blend in with the crowd and not stand out - to conform to the norm so to speak. It makes things easier if we conform to a group because it enhances a sense of belonging which is good for morale. Yes, many studies have been conducted about how beneficial it is for an individual to feel and be part of a group, whether it be in a social or professional context. We feel proud of our group identity and often this contributes to our own self-esteem. But then I can't help but think that this could also have an adverse effect on us exploring our own unique abilities ... It's these things that make us humans so interesting! I suppose many trees together will create a forest, but each tree will remain unique in it's own way. And that is why we should all celebrate our own individuality and uniqueness within the group.
