29 April 2010: An exciting announcement from TravelPeople

An announcement from Lynne:
It is with great pride, excitement and happiness that I can announce that Louise Kilian, my most able assistant of over 6 years has bought shares in TravelPeople.

As you may or may not know, Louise has effectively been running the administration side of the business and some of the workshops for over 4 years. She is so capable and efficient, that I have never had a day's concern. In fact she has most often been the oar that has steered the boat.

From now on in, Louise will be totally responsible for the booking and overseeing of the workshops, while I take on the more mundane stuff and the occasional workshop when we are under pressure. However neither of us will ever be further than an email or a phone call away from you, and will always have your best interests at heart. We both thank you for your continued support and look forward to working with you for a long time to come.

I am sure you join me in wishing Louise everything of the best for a wonderful future. She is Special People!

It doesn't really matter what you do, as long as you keep it real. Yes, for most of us this line rings a bell somewhere and it may have a connotation with pink drinks and the likes thereof, but I believe the "keeping it real" pertains to most things in life - unless your refer to the annual World Air Guitar Championships. Since this event took place in 1996 in Finland for the first time, it has grown in popularity. And no, this is not an April Fool's joke - that is long gone. It is a real event where people pretend to play rock or heavy metal music on a "real" electric guitar. There are rules to abide by and judges to impress and oh! - the upset if you snap a string! 7 April 2010: Living life with TravelPeople

How quickly the memory of a long weekend fades ... I had the pleasure of spending two glorious nights at the Quarters Hotel in Hermanus, but after spending four hours in traffic back to Cape Town on Monday and hitting the floor running on Tuesday, it all feels like a distant dream. I still consider myself to be extremely fortunate as I had the opportunity to not only "return to my roots" but to also spend time totally living in the moment! Again I realized just how difficult this is in everyday life and actually how important it is for one's vitality and sense of well-being. I think Mr. Mohr Keet who, at the tender age of 96 bungy jumped this week, should share his secret with us.
