Being young and being content very seldom goes together. As a baby, all you need to be content is to have your basic needs fulfilled, but the minute a child starts realizing that there is a great big world out there, discontentment sets in. It is then that they start longing for bigger, better, more or just other things. And the consumer driven world that we live in does not contribute in any way to creating a more contented society. Some people go through their entire lives never really feeling quietly happy and satisfied with the way things are, envyingly looking upon others who are ... Some people may say that it's human nature to always want what you can't or don't have, but I believe that once you start looking beyond your own circumstances and take a realistic view of the world, you will notice that life is too short to waste time thinking 'if only I had this, or if I could only do that'. And with that I don't mean that you ever have to stop striving towards new goals and just accept the status quo, but rather that you live in the now, appreciate what life has thrown your way and make the most of it!
